In 2018 AFS launched into the market Kronotex, one of the world’s leading European laminate ranges. The range is extensive and has been refined with the manufacturer (Swiss Krono), including 10 ranges covering 7mm through to 12mm in thickness, water resistant capabilities and a variety of sizes and structures. All prepared to meet the demands of the Australian market.

The core expertise of KRONOTEX GmbH & Co. KG, established in 1993, is producing high-quality laminate flooring. A member of the internationally active SWISS KRONO GROUP, KRONOTEX is one of the leading European manufacturers of laminate flooring. At its base in Heiligengrabe, Germany more than 700 employees use eco-friendly production methods to make laminate and engineered wood boards that meet the strictest environmental standards, exporting to more than 80 countries.

Laminate consists of approximately 90% wood, a natural material. That’s why it has such an eco-friendly profile and delivers both health and environmental benefits. The décor side is mostly made of high-quality paper impregnated with melamine resin. Laminate flooring thus predominantly comprises of wood, a renewable raw material. KRONOTEX regularly invests in state-of-the-art production systems that are designed to recycle and reuse heat and scrap. Everything is produced without pesticides, chlororganic compounds, plasticisers or toxic heavy metals. Which is why KRONOTEX laminate floors have such an outstanding environmental footprint. As a result of their composition and manufacture, they are practically odourless and have extremely low emissions. Studies have shown, in fact, that the formaldehyde emissions of KRONOTEX laminate flooring is comparable to those of untreated wood and therefore well below the legal limits.
